Our experienced local guide will assist in locating and spotting  the Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys in their natural habitat and other interesting flora and fauna which are found in the forest.

Nature Walks and Exploration:

Venture deeper into the forest on the Jozani forest  trails. These paths wind through ancient trees, past rare plant species, and  various microhabitats. Our guide will point out interesting features like medicinal plants and explain the forest’s role in local traditions of the people of Pete village.

The Mangrove Boardwalk:

Next, we’ll explore the mangrove section of the forest. This boardwalk meanders through a unique ecosystem where the trees’ roots filter seawater. Look out for mudskippers and various bird species adapted to this brackish environment. The contrast between the mangrove swamp and the forest's dense vegetation is truly striking.
